I am gossiping because I want people to feel bad about others so I can feel good about myself.

God never promised your heavy problem to be lighter but he will make you strong enough to go through.

Gossip is like throwing a firebrand at someone without letting him know.

Dear God,

Oh Lord, teach me to love you

more than anything in this world,

more than money,

more than sexual desire,

more than stuff that I have gained,

more than things that soon will pass away.

Forgive me that a lot of times

I've failed to love you as my ultimate treasure,

but you keep showing up in my life

to show your love for me.

Teach me O Lord, so I can live this life

according to your will not my own will.

Teach me to embrace the gospel,

let not the worldliness consume my heart and my soul.

Wedding Prayer

Heavenly Father, our God, our Creator, we bless and praise your mighty name. We give thanks to You o God, as we gathered together here in Your presence, celebrating the joy of the marriage of our son, our daughter, our brother, our sister and our friends, [groom's name] and [bride's name].

We pray for them, so they may grow in love more and more, together in You O God, as the foundation of the new family. Teach them that marriage is not always about being happy but it’s about keeping the covenant, which is to display Christ Jesus’ love for His church.

Grant them a desire for each other but also a desire to know, to glorify, to magnify you above all things. We pray that you will always be in their life, not matter what kind of circumstances that they may face, in happiness also in sadness, in joy also in sufferings, in healthiness also in sickness. Teach them to forgive and forbear, that they may grow in grace of suffering and love. May they serve you faithfully, joyfully, together - until at least one of them lay in your arm.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Saviour, Redeemer, Sustainer, who died for our sin and rose again. Amen.

Jangan melakukan perbuatan baik…

1. Supaya saya diterima oleh Tuhan
   Kita diselamatkan bukan oleh perbuatan baik kita, perbuatan baik kita merupakan satu tanda bahwa iman yang kita miliki, adalah iman yang benar dan sejati dalam Kristus Yesus yang dikaruniakan kepada kita secara cuma-cuma, bukan berdasarkan berapa banyak kita melayani Tuhan di dalam segala kesibukan kita, bukan berdasarkan berapa rajin kita ke gereja, bukan berdasarkan banyaknya doa yang kita panjatkan, semua hal itu tidak dapat membuat Tuhan menerima kita, karena Tuhan menerima kita hanya karena kasih karunia di dalam pengorbanan Yesus Kristus.
   
   
2. Supaya saya diterima oleh orang lain
   Seringkali kita lebih takut kepada manusia daripada Tuhan, sehingga perbuatan baik yang kita lakukan hanyalah untuk menarik perhatian orang lain, agar mereka dapat menerima kita. Kita berpikiran jikalau kita berbuat baik tentu orang lain akan menerima saya, pada kenyataannya di dalam hidup kita, walaupun kita berbuat baik belum tentu orang lain dapat menerima kita sepenuhnya.
   
   
3. Supaya saya diterima oleh saya
   Melakukan perbuatan baik seringkali menjadi ‘obat’ supaya kita tidak merasa bersalah kepada diri sendiri, karena kita tahu kita melakukan apa yang jahat, sehingga kerap kali diri kita sendiri pun tidak dapat menerima diri kita sendiri. Kita cenderung ingin berbuat baik hanya untuk menghilangkan rasa bersalah tersebut, seolah-olah dengan berbuat baik, kita dapat membayar kesalahan tersebut atau paling tidak sedikit membuat perbuatan baik dan perbuatan jahat kita sama rata.

Marilah kita bersama-sama berbuat baik bukan karena 3 alasan di atas, tetapi karena Allah sudah menerima kita di dalam Yesus Kristus, kita sudah diciptakan kembali di dalam Kristus Yesus dengan tujuan melakukan perbuatan baik dan hal ini sudah dipersiapkan Allah, dan Allah  mau supaya kita hidup di dalamnya dan bukan menjadi  syarat supaya kita diterima oleh Tuhan.

Efesus 2:10
Karena kita ini buatan Allah, diciptakan dalam Kristus Yesus untuk melakukan pekerjaan baik, yang dipersiapkan Allah sebelumnya. Ia mau, supaya kita hidup di dalamnya.

Wrong Motivation

We can act humbly in the outside yet snotty in the inside but definitely not the reverse.

A lot of times we justify ourselves by saying "I need this" instead of "I want this."
